Welcome to Newton Abbot Fencing Club

Are you looking to get fit, socialize and perform the art of sword fencing?

You will be able to enter competitions locally, nationally and internationally, with a possibility of representing your country.

Newton Abbot fencing club, prides itself on a warm and friendly reception to all new members and we would be happy to meet you to introduce you to our sport.

We welcome all ages and abilities, from age 8 upwards. You do not need to have any previous experience and we will even offer you a 2 week FREE trial first.

The club is also pleased to welcome people with physical handicaps under the umbrella of ‘wheelchair fencing’. Fencing is a sport that particularly lends itself to this, and the challenge from a fencer in a wheelchair can be as great and just as difficult as facing your opponent on a conventional fencing piste.

All equipment is provided and all three weapons (foil, epee and sabre) are practised. Every month we have an optional club competition in all three disciplines which is a great chance to show off what you have learned.

The club has three coaches and meets four times a week. It is affiliated to the National organisation, the British Fencing Association and is a member of the Devon County Fencing Union.
