The Buckland Handicap on Sunday 19th November

Held at Marjon University, Plymouth. Epee for over 13’s. Foil for under 13’s and under 10’s.

An ideal competition for those new to fencing and an interesting challenge for the experienced. Each participant has a handicap based on their competition experience and how long they have been fencing etc. (Can be a negative or a positive). Eg, a less experienced person may have start with a lead of 2 points and be against a fencer who minus -2. For DE the handicaps are multiplied relative to the total number of hits for which it is being fought.

This competition dates back to the 1950’s and the trophy for the seniors is a large wooden shield with the history of the winners. It was given to the County by the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe. Be an early bird and get a discounted entry fee – entry forms below:
